전담 상담

Dominated by interior designers, mechanical engineers, lighting consultants, climate engineers and furniture representatives, what still remains of the architectural interior today?

Rethinking the interior means rethinking the limits of architecture as a multiple array of coupled systems: a proposal which is equally formal, historical and technical.

Interior Matters (a+t 47), the third and final issue in the SOLID Harvard GSD series, published in partnership with Harvard GSD, reclaims the great ignored of Modernism that is the interior.

The issue contains recent projects and relevant voices such as those of Richard Sennett, Kiel Moe, Salmaan Craig and Iñaki Ábalos who from different spheres warn of the importance of the interior and of the profound knowledge of materials. On the contrary architects are to become mere personal shoppers for their clients.

The SOLID Harvard GSD series gathers together the material from the four Symposia on Architecture held at Harvard University Graduate School of Design from 2014 to 2016 entitled All that is Solid. The collection of essays, projects and conversations not only reflects the current complexity and the challenges faced by the discipline but also traces out future paths to tread.

SOLID Harvard GSD is a series which makes demands, which calls for knowledge and reflection as essential elements for architectural practice, which challenges prevailing ideas, which advocates new narratives, new visions of reality and which provides intellectual tools to interpret the setting, the setting we feel we know.
