Grimshaw's South Korean Eden Project revealed

Grimshaw has unveiled plans for a National Ecology Centre in South Korea, reminiscent of the Eden Project.
The practice is collaborating with local firm Samoo Architects and other firms including Atelier Ten, to create the 33,000sq m “Ecorium” landmark, which is in Seocheon Province.
It features a spectacular string of arched biome enclosures described as “windows to the sky” which will be arranged in a sequence recalling a meandering river.
Visitors will move through botanical exhibits, aquariums, exhibition halls, a 3D theatre and restaurants, before re-emerging by way of a rooftop garden with views of the immediate outdoor eco-park.
Grimshaw won the scheme through a competition organised by the country’s ministry of the environment. The architect hopes the project will educate visitors about global climate change and its impact on different ecosystems.
